During our last trip, camera in tow, I took some cool pics as we were coming into
this crazy fun town. Notice the buildings on the left and the Vegas sign ahead. It started with the blue tone background fabric that you see on the left. I cut out three sections and replaced them with different painted fabric so that it would look more like a road.
Curved piecing works well!
Love to step out of the box just a tad, and add a slightly different perspective. Look at the cool swirls in the blue. The Mini is raw edgework and made with vintage pieces that I had taken from my sisters stash last time I was in Arizona.
The buildings on the left are heavily stitched and dry brushed with paint to give that stucco textured look. Here is a detail shot below,
Had so much fun with this one. Let me know your thoughts!
Love it, Teresa! I like how you were playful with the tall, narrow format. Good job!
I, too, love this piece! The format is so original. Looking forward to seeing it in person.
Fantastic perspective. Very creative use of your hand dyed and painted fabrics! And I love your stitching choices that enhance the flow and the elements of the piece! Great Job! Thanks for sharing, deborah
